DOUGLASSVILLE — Developers of the Keystone Villa at Douglassville Personal Care facility, Route 422 East, announced plans Oct. 10 for a third expansion by building a new 38,000-square-foot, three-story building just west of the current facilities.
The facility is located on land owned by Two Douglassville Properties LP, which began in the 1980s when members of the adjoining St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church purchased land to build a senior retirement community for their aging members and residents in Douglassville.
James Elliott, church member and president of Hollenbach Construction Company, Boyertown, and Civil Engineer Brian Boyer of Boyer Engineering, Douglassville, submitted sketch plans to the Amity Township Planning Commission on Oct. 10.
Elliott said Hollenbach Elliott Development Group will submit land development plans soon.
The Villa at Morlatton opened its first building, an independent living facility, in 2005.That was followed by a personal care and memory care building in 2009 and a name change to Keystone Villa at Douglassville in 2011.
Elliott said the former Hoffman residence will be demolished for the new construction.

Birdsboro Borough Council voted 6-0 Monday to appoint Boyer Engineering of Douglassville and Pennsylvania Certified Inspectors of Wernersville to handle 2011 engineering and code enforcement.
Together the firms will replace engineer and codes officer Thomas J. Yuhas of Horizon Engineering, Pennsburg, Montgomery County.
He has accepted a full-time position with Downingtown, Chester County, but will work with the new firms in the transition.
Borough Manager Aaron Durso said Yuhas has been with the borough for two years.
In other business, Durso told council that illegal trash dumping at a property in the 200 block of Furnace Street is costing tax dollars to clean up.
"I would urge council to tell the public not to dump trash there," Durso said.
President Steven Lusky did not attend the meeting.
